As an ecologist, I am broadly interested in animal migration, infectious diseases, and conservation. In particular, I aim to understand how environmental changes affect animal movement and disease risk in wildlife populations. My post-doctoral research at the Smithsonian National Zoo focuses on insect migration as an ecologically important and diverse phenomenon. My Ph.D. research at the University of Georgia examined monarch butterfly migration and infection dynamics, using field and lab studies, modeling, and citizen science.
